Submission to one another.
1 Peter 5:5 ‘…be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.’
Submission to one another does not mean
always yielding to the most strongly opinionated
and dogmatic person in the group.
It means being willing to give way to one another;
serving one another;
and recognizing those who are able to lead
by their example;
their experience;
and their growth in the scripture.
The first garment we must always put on
in Christian leadership is humility.
It will keep us from the destructive power of pride;
and prevent us from seeking to use the gospel for personal gain.
