Seeking the approval of God rather than the praise of man.
John 2:24 ‘But Jesus did not commit Himself unto them, because He knew all men,’
If we desire the praise and respect of the world
then we will be led away from truth and righteousness;
we will lose sight of the urgency to preach the gospel
so men and women can find salvation in Jesus Christ;
and the need to please will mean we preach the love of God
without mentioning the need for true repentance and faith in Christ alone.
The carnal mind is easily excited by stories of miracles
but has no time for the invitation to receive new life in Jesus.
When we are filled with the love of Christ
then we will always seek the approval of God
rather than the praise of man.
