It is not our struggle but His life in us that overcomes.
Colossians 3:5 ‘Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:’
We overcome immorality and covetousness
by putting on the new life we have received in Christ.
We are to reckon ourselves dead to sin
so that the life of Christ can reign in our heart and life.
It is not our struggle but His life in us that overcomes.
We are to be who we are in Christ; a new creation.
Holiness is the outworking of new life in Christ;
love is the fruit of new life in Christ.
The wonder of the gospel is that Jesus Christ has done everything for us;
we must learn to walk in the freedom that we have in Christ.
