The love; power; excitement; and joy of the early church.
Acts 1:14 ‘These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.’
The disciples were united by the life of Christ dwelling in them;
perfectly harmonised together by the love of Christ;
they were filled with joy because Jesus is alive;
they were filled with excitement and expectation
which overflowed in mighty prayer.
They looked not to their own resources but for the power of God;
they knew that the promise of the Father
was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
The church today still needs to experience the same love;
the same power; the same excitement; and the same joy.
