Floods upon the Dry Ground

The Author

Jackie Ritchie was born of fisherfolk parents in the North East of Scotland.

His father and mother were converted in the spiritual awakening described in ‘Floods upon the dry ground’.

Jackie went to sea in the old steam drifters and later sailed in motor boats.

While standing idly one day near the Cross Keys at Peterhead Harbour, he heard some workers from the Faith Mission along with Tom Paterson of the Deep Sea Mission preach the Gospel he knew from his early days.  He was convicted of his need and later that night went along to the Mission in Charlotte Street, where these men were preaching.  A few days later, on the 15th of September, 1954, he gave his heart to Christ, while in his late teens.

In 1958 he left the fishing, attended the Faith Mission Bible School in Edinburgh and worked for a few years as a Pilgrim in the Faith Mission.  As an independent evangelist, he has traveled throughout Britain, including Ulster and Southern Ireland.
