The Major Prophets
The Major Prophets are called "major" not because they are more important than the Minor Prophets, but because of the length of their books. These five prophets ministered during critical periods in Israel's history, calling the nation to repentance and proclaiming God's judgment and future restoration.
Isaiah prophesied the coming Messiah with unparalleled clarity, Jeremiah witnessed Jerusalem's fall and warned of exile, Lamentations mourns the destruction of the holy city, Ezekiel ministered among the exiles in Babylon with vivid visions of God's glory, and Daniel received prophetic revelations about world kingdoms and the coming Kingdom of God.
