The Minor Prophets
The twelve Minor Prophets, also called "The Book of the Twelve," are labeled "minor" only because of their shorter length, not their importance. These prophets ministered over a period of about 400 years, from the 9th to the 5th century BC, addressing both Israel and Judah before, during, and after the exile.
Their messages are diverse yet unified in calling God's people to repentance, warning of judgment for sin, and proclaiming hope in God's faithfulness and the coming Messiah. From Hosea's picture of God's unfailing love to Malachi's call for covenant faithfulness before the 400 years of prophetic silence, these books reveal God's persistent love for His wayward people.
Books included: Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi
