About R.A. Torrey
Reuben Archer Torrey was one of the most influential evangelical leaders of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A graduate of Yale University and Yale Divinity School, Torrey was known for his powerful preaching and his emphasis on the importance of prayer in the Christian life.
As superintendent of the Moody Bible Institute and later as dean of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (now Biola University), Torrey trained countless Christian workers and led major evangelistic campaigns around the world.
