About William Gurnall
William Gurnall was an English Puritan pastor who served the parish of Lavenham, Suffolk for 35 years. His masterwork, The Christian in Complete Armour, took over 20 years to write and remains one of the most beloved devotional works in Christian history.
This monumental work provides a deep exposition of Ephesians 6:10-20, examining each piece of the Christian's spiritual armor in extraordinary detail. C.H. Spurgeon called it "peerless and priceless" and recommended that every Christian read it.
"Gurnall's work is peerless and priceless; every line is full of wisdom. I have often resorted to it when my own fire has been burning low, and I have seldom failed to find a glowing coal upon Gurnall's hearth."
— Charles Spurgeon
