Faith looks to the sufficiency of Christ.
"And the scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God."
The faith of Abraham rested on the covenant of God;
the promises of God; and the power of God.
Faith unites us with the finished work of Christ;
clothes us in the righteousness of Christ; reconciles us with God;
it justifies the sinner and turns enemies into friends of God.
Faith looks to the sufficiency of Christ
and recognises without Him we can do nothing.
Faith puts no trust in our works.
It trusts in Christ for everything.
Faith does not try to live a better life;
Faith grows in new life and walks in the freedom of new life.
