Hebrews 12:6
"For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives."
The chastening of the Lord is precious.
His hand is upon us because we are His children.
His love surrounds us because we belong to Him.
He keeps us from evil.
His love towards us is unchanging and everlasting;
He delights in mercy.
The scourging of the Lord separates us
from a world that denies His word.
We cannot be like them.
We have the life of Christ in us;
we are the temple of the Holy Spirit;
the dwelling place of God.
We are called to holiness;
we represent the Lord; we are servants of the King.
We are chastened by His love;
kept by His power;
led by His Spirit.
