Avoiding things that appear evil.
1 Thessalonians 5:22 ‘Abstain from all appearance of evil.’
The sincerity of our faith will only be seen
if we keep ourselves from evil.
We need to put on Christ so we are not deceived
by the corruption and seduction of fleshly desires.
We live by a higher standard than the world.
The things that appear evil to us
may not be considered evil by the world.
The world seeks to put pressure on us to make us accept its standards.
It is only by keeping our heart and mind fixed upon Christ and His word
that we will recognise the appearance of evil.
Our life represents the Lord.
We should avoid the things that appear to be evil
because we are to be an example to others.
