Colossians 3:16 - Songs of the Church

A message by Steve Dulwich

Key Scripture

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

— Colossians 3:16

Singing with Anointing

We sing so many songs in church that have no anointing -- they have no message. We need to get back to singing the songs that come from Scripture, songs that are anointed.

We don't need professional singers. You don't have to be a great singer -- I'm certainly not a great singer -- but you need to have Jesus living in your heart. You need to know that you're born again of the Spirit of God and going to heaven.

A Song Worth Singing

And then you can sing songs like this:

It will be worth it all when we see Jesus, Life's trials will seem so small when we see Him; One glimpse of His dear face, all sorrows will erase, So let us run the race till we see Christ.

That is a song with a message. It points us to Jesus, it reminds us that the trials of this life are temporary, and it calls us to press on in the race of faith until we see Him face to face.

God bless you.
