If we seek to be justified by our righteousness;

try to find grace on the basis of our works

or through sacraments instituted by the Church;

or seek to find peace by earning God's approval on our life

then we will die in our sin and never know the joy of salvation.

It makes no difference how many good deeds we have done

or how kind we have been in helping others.

The good news of the gospel

is that faith in Christ alone justifies the sinner;

we are made one with Christ; righteous in Him.

Christ is our life; our peace; our salvation.
