The riches of His mercy cannot be drawn from the poverty of our efforts.
Ephesians 2:4 'But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us,'
The riches of His mercy are our inheritance in Christ.
The wisdom of God alone could plan it;
the love of God alone could make it happen;
the grace of God alone could make it available;
and faith in Christ alone makes it possible to receive it.
It cannot be bought at any price;
cannot be earned by any work;
it removes all human effort;
demolishes pride in self righteousness;
and puts everyone on the same level.
God delights to show mercy;
He will not hesitate to show mercy;
His mercy is freely given;
but the riches of His mercy
cannot be drawn from the poverty of our efforts.
