Philippians 1:10 ‘That you may approve things that are excellent; that you may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;’

Maturity in Christ brings discernment to act wisely

and to choose the things that have real value;

it produces sincerity, honesty, and integrity

so we become an example of the life changing power of the gospel;

and it will fill us with loving concern for the welfare of others

so we build others up in Christ and never push people away.

We have the witness of the Spirit within us to help us;

the authority of the scripture to inform us;

and sanctified common sense that combines with both the Spirit and the word

keeping us from following after the foolish ideas of fleshly thinking.
