It is in Christ alone that we find rest.
Matthew 11:28 ‘Come unto Me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’
It is in Christ alone that we find rest.
We can only turn to Christ when we turn away from
self-dependence; self-effort; and self-confidence.
If we seek to be free from the burden of sin;
guilt; and condemnation by doing penance;
and seek to be righteous by our own works
then we will never find the peace of justification.
These things will keep us from trusting in Christ.
It is faith in Christ alone that justifies the sinner.
We find rest in Him as we learn to trust in His finished work;
to depend on His strength; to rely on His promises;
and to cast our care on Him.
