Carnal mind and the spiritual mind.
Romans 8:6 ‘For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.’
The carnal mind is governed entirely by the five senses.
Everyone is born captive to it.
Religion flourishes within it but is unable to bring anyone out.
The pleasures of sin are greatly followed within it
but misery is the final outcome.
Only in Christ can we be lifted
to the new realm of being spiritually minded.
When Christ is our life
then it will be seen by the love of Christ
controlling us instead of a self centred life;
by the armour of God keeping us from following sinful pleasures;
and by the power and presence of God with us
through prayer and obedience to His word.
