The promise; the gift; the assurance.
1 John 2:25 ‘And this is the promise that He has promised us, even eternal life.’
The promise of God could only be given at God’s expense.
He not only promised eternal life;
He became sin for us.
In Christ we are brought through judgment and death into new life.
We know we have eternal life because His Spirit is given to us
as the down payment on our eternal inheritance.
We know we are accepted in Christ
because His Spirit confirms His word within us.
We know we can draw daily on His strength; His provision; His protection;
because Christ is our life.
