The foolishness of preaching and the authority of scripture.
1 Corinthians 1:21 ‘For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe.’
It is with the authority of scripture
that we are called to preach the gospel.
Arguments and debates alone will never bring a person to Christ.
The gospel is foolishness to those who reject Christ
but faith sees the wisdom of God and receives.
The Holy Spirit is able to open the hearts
and minds of those who will desire Him.
Our attitude towards the gospel is determined
by the desires that are in our heart.
If we love the world then it will keep us from Christ.
If we are thirsty for living water
then our heart will be open to the message of the gospel.
