Guarding ourselves from the intoxication of the world.
1 Thessalonians 5:8 ‘But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.’
We must guard our heart and mind from the intoxication of the world.
The hopes of the world will fade;
the desire for worldly gain will never satisfy;
and the pleasures of the world will bring no lasting joy.
But in Jesus Christ our hope is certain.
He will satisfy and fill the longing heart.
The joy He gives will never pass away.
His word will never fail;
His love will never cease;
and His kingdom will never end.
All who trust in Him will never be disappointed.
It is His love in us that removes all fear.
