Wickedness is not the lack of good works.
1 John 5:19 ‘And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness.’
The achievements of the world are amazing.
The advances of science are impressive.
The skill and bravery of professional people save many lives.
The good works of caring people are highly beneficial.
Wickedness is not the lack of good works.
It is a heart separated from God;
a heart that is led by the need to satisfy the appetites;
captivated by the desire for selfish pleasure;
and desiring self glory.
When Christ is our life then our desire will be to please Him;
to trust daily in His word;
and to know Him more.
