The life of the vine is in the branches.
John 15:5 ‘I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing.’
The life of the vine must flow through the branches
in order for the fruit to grow.
In the same way it is only possible to live the Christian life
when the life of Christ dwells in us.
We cannot do anything in our own strength.
His life must be reproduced in us.
The fruit of a holy life is produced as we grow in Christ.
Our need for dependence upon Him
makes the weaknesses and failings of our life
great blessings that help us to trust in His strength and not our own.
