The royal law of love.
James 2:8 ‘If you fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbour as yourself, you do well:’
There is no greater law than the royal law of love.
It is called the royal law because it expresses the heart of the King;
and brings joy to those whom the King wishes to bless.
It is not an emotional response to the need of others;
it is love rooted in Christ.
It is love that flows out of the joy of knowing who we are in Christ;
love that acts because we are the children of the King.
We love others as we love ourselves;
and we love ourselves because it is Christ who dwells in us.
