Watchful, steadfast, courageous, and strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13 ‘Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.’
Being watchful means taking care so that the affections of our heart
are not side-tracked by the attractions of the world.
It means being careful to keep our heart filled with the love of Christ
and fixing our mind upon His word.
We stand fast in the faith by standing upon Christ
and all He has done for us.
Christ alone is the rock of our salvation.
He gives us the boldness to live for Him
and the strength to do His will.
If we trust in our own ability then we will be discouraged and fail.
But when we trust in His strength then He will keep us from discouragement
and we shall never fail.
