Humility will have faith in Christ alone.
1 Peter 5:6 ‘Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time:’
There is a danger that self reliance will fill our heart with pride
and the need of our heart can remain covered over by temporal prosperity.
If we humble ourselves
then we will be kept from the deception of our own heart.
Humility enables us to see the depth of our need
and helps us recognise our inability to lift ourselves.
Pride looks to our own efforts but humility looks to Christ.
The Lord allows us to be humbled so that He can lift us.
In Christ humility becomes the path to greatness.
Humility will have faith in Christ alone
and trusts in the greatness of His provision.
